Non-traditional, Hands-on Coaching
Every young adult needs a mentor outside of their circle. Through engagement with a neutral party such as coach, teens often feel more comfortable to share information they wouldn’t necessarily tell a parent, teacher or even mental health professionals. While I’m not a replacement for traditional cognitive therapy, I can provide a bridge and motivation to make change. With teens and young adults, we typically meet outdoors or in a neutral place where they feel comfortable and often somewhere we can get some physical activity in, such as a walk, hike or workout. Focus of these sessions is to allow the teen to talk freely about their experiences, and to help guide them toward making good decisions. We also will look at who they are, what they want their lives to look like after school, what motivates them, and how to overcome the challenges of being a young adult. The ultimate goal is to motivate them to start thinking about their future and start making steps together for positive advancement and overall confidence boost.

While I’m not a replacement for a nutritionist or doctor, I can help keep you accountable and motivated to make the changes your health care provider has suggested. I can also help make suggestions for questions to ask your health care provider and help you navigate the medical maze. Together, we would create a custom coaching plan tailored to your personal needs. I would help you set realistic and achievable goals, keep you on track and help you find motivation. My background as a personal trainer also allows us to get moving together if that’s what it takes. Health & Wellness sessions usually take place outside, or in a place my coaching client feels comfortable. It can consist of a trip to the grocery store together, a walk around the neighborhood, weight training or even a video call.
