About AEC

Alimental Life utilizes a unique style of holistic coaching to meet you where you are at.  AEC™ (Active Engagement Coaching) will propel you forward with action and not just words.

We believe in the power of using your physical space and energy to help shift your mindset. We focus on sessions that take us out of a traditional “office space” and make use of the tools you already have to help you grow. AEC™ works because it addresses your entire person, your environment, and gives your brain the opportunity to make new connections by “doing.”

Every coaching plan is created custom to our clients needs and comfort level. Here are some examples of how we use AEC™:

A 42 year old mom who is ready to change her health habits.

She wants to find ways to improve her health while working and caring for her family. On our discovery call, we decide to meet for our first session at a park near her house. During this session, we walk we discuss the setbacks and challenges she’s experienced in the past and discover what motivates her, what her goals are and how we can work toward achieving this in a realistic way. During this walk, we also are mapping out a safe and reliable walking path that she can take alone with her baby in the stroller after work.

The following week, she admits she’s struggling with nutrition and would like some help figuring out a system to better meal prep. So we meet Sunday on her prep day at the grocery store to discuss nutrition and portion size and review her grocery list.

Our next follow-up is held in her own kitchen the next day, where we meal prep together in her kitchen and help her figure out how to store the food in containers she already has, where to put it all in the fridge, and other ways to create habits that will allow her to succeed in her own environment.

After she's feeling comfortable with these new systems, we begin to meet weekly for check-ins via zoom with her infant, and we review her nutrition, and discuss breast feeding, personal goals, and workout plans for the following week.

The concerned parent contacts us about his 16-year-old who is struggling with anxiety, failing school, and seems to be super lazy.

Father contact us, his son is lazy, anxious, and depressed. He rarely comes out of his room and isn’t interested in graduating. He is interested in working out but has never set foot in a gym.  So we decide to meet at the local park where there's an obstacle course, and he agrees to meet with his new personal trainer/life coach.

We meet at the park, within walking distance from his home, where he feels welcome to speak and move as he is comfortable. We start off with a light warm-up talking about video games, movies, and other things that bring him joy. Through this discussion, we're able to discover what motivates him and what might be holding him back.

We run the obstacle course together and do our cool down. During the cool down, we discuss his future, academics and have a discussion about what he wished his life looked like. We get him dreaming and excited about the potential of his future.  The workout goes well and he decides with his parents that we should do a workout twice a week.

After a couple of weeks, we suggest that in the next follow-up session, we should attempt to look at his academic schedule to create small goals for success.  We schedule a video call and create goals and checkpoints that he can work towards to help him, graduate.   During this chat, he shares some issues he's experiencing around drug use and risky behaviors. He wants to quit but he's not sure how to share with his parents.   We coach him on how to have this conversation with his parents independently and give him a deadline to do so.  We then schedule a parent support call for the following day to help with resources and guidance on how best to support their child through this transition.

A business owner who is unsure of next steps and is feeling overwhelmed and burned out.

We meet at her favorite hiking trail and discuss strategy on the hike. When we get back to the parking lot, we sit down and map out a plan. Meeting in a neutral and engaging area allows new ideas flow more easily, and getting some exercise and sunshine help boost overall mood and mental clarity.

The following week, we would meet at her office and go over workflow, clutter and systems that might be holding her back from moving forward with her plan. She decides the best way to keep herself accountable is to send me weekly updates on her goal progress so we check in via email weekly, followed by monthly zoom meetings, until she finds herself at a pivot point, and needs to meet again in person.
